At one time, summer before last, shortly after my broken steering shaft event, I couldn't see paying $350 dollars for this to happen again, so I turned a solid shaft out of some 4140 solid stock I had laying around, I made the major diameter 15/16 and then necked it down on one end for the gear and the other for the carrier bearing?? and cut the taper for the steering wheel to mount on. And I believe that taper was 3 degrees, though I would rather see someone else chime in before you fabricated something based on my amateur machinist measuring. (Meaning that I think that is what it was but I'm not REAL sure) What ever it was it fit good the first time, and I've used it up until a month and a half ago when I decided to put in a v8 and power steering.

Good luck

Dylan
