No problem bringing truck into Canada. Phone a Cdn. broker such as Pacific Customs Brokers and they should be able to give you the information required by both U.S. and Cdn. officials. If you use a broker they will charge you about 350.oo. You must fax U.S. Customs 72 hours before the vehicle arrives at the U.S. departure point with a Copy of the bill of sale as well as a complete registration copy. U.S. Customs will phone you when they receive this paperwork and give you the date you can cross with your truck. Make sure to have all the original paperwork at that time.
I am bringing a truck in B.C. next week and I have been dealing with U.S. Customs this week.
Hope this helps you.
As for trucking a 1.00 mi. would be reasonable on a less then truck load rate.
Make sure you supply trucker with all the broker info and paperwork unless you are going to meet them at the border. Don't want to hold the trucker up or they will charge you for that.
