I tried probably half a dozen cheaper ones -- the squeeze bottles, the little plastic pumps, the "suck and squirt" guns -- but they were too slow for any real volume. They're fine for topping off a leaky gear box now and then, but to fully fill any of the gear boxes on my big trucks would take forever, especially with thick oil. The squirt bottles often can't get up into the right position, the plastic pumps don't last and don't pump much volume, and the suck-and-squirt guns take more muscle than I have if the oil is thick. The bucket pumps are around $30 (Northern Hydraulic, etc), which is well worth it if you do any regular maintenance on anything with gears.
