Here is a close up of the 1956 Truckstell Willock Swivel Frame pivot axle chucked up in my lathe. I thought I would clean up the surface with some crocus cloth prior to putting the frame back together so I could check the condition of the pivot. The piece picture is 19 inches long and 4 inches in dianeter and over 1/2 thick. Besides the minimal pitting visible in the picture the surface is in remarkable shape for being inside the swivel frame for over 50 years!
Nothing beats good ol' American steel.
