4bt/4bta physical differences?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are any differences in the blocks between the 4bt and 4bta, or is it simply the addition of the aftercooler? Of the two trucks that I am looking at, (according to the mechanic) one is definitely after cooled but has water in the oil, probably from the after cooler. He is unsure whether the other is after cooled (but I am going to call him back on this) but it only has a dead battery and can probably be driven home with a new one.

I would prefer an after cooled engine, but will probably take the safer bet with bidding on the one that doesn't have water in the oil; however, I am wondering if later on I can simply slap on an after cooler off another truck or are there physical differences that would not allow this?

Thanks.

Jeffrey
