This archive of US Field Artillery Magazine has something for everyone.
Lot's of VF photos in the 1940 editions, discussions on the truck type and class discussions in the US 1939-40.
Late 1941 you get the photo of the new-fangled fuel (jerry) can carrier, and contemporary accounts of a lot of WW2 stuff.
I'm still reading.
