Yes they did. It was kind of a weird set up. Tere was a long swig arm mounted to the frame forward of the axle that attached to the axle. I remember seeing several when I was a younger on 60's Chevy truck. I remember getting on the rear bumper and bouncing up and down and it was very soft and I considered it unstable. But it was a 1/2 ton truck.
