I did the same thing, about three years ago, it works great and no more "Norton Hell".
Norton was the best, about 7 years ago, it since has became so intrusive that your computer runs as fast as a Commodore 28, good thing I upgraded to Commodore 64....= )
If you run an XP, DO NOT UPGRADE to Vista!!! It's worse!
