Replace your spark plugs. I had the same issue and it was a cracked plug. It would over heat and detonate the fuel mixture early. I found it because I found the spark plug had loosened up. I tightened it and a week later I had the same problem and the plug was loose again. I replaced the plugs and never had the problem again.It was kind of interesting to watch a backfire come through the windshield wipers. It blue the vacuum hos off one wiper.
