I''ve got a 1949 Dodge Powerwagon with a 230ci in line flat head 6cyl. I can let the truck idle all day with no problem but when I try to drive it will cut out (bog down then total loss of power) within one mile of the shop. I let it sit for 10-20 minutes and it will start and run for another mile or so then cut out again. When it dies there is fuel visible in the glass filter bowl at the carb inlet. Engine temp is around 180-190 degrees while driving. Today I reved it up to 2700 rpm for 20 minutes and it ran great. I drove it and it cut out again. This truck has been doing this for about four years. As of this summer it has a completely rebuilt engine, new water pump, new fuel pump, new thermostat, cleaned out radiator.
