I have friends and aquaintances in the Special Operations Community of the US military. Very few of them have (with the exception of the CAG, or "Delta Force") the HK416 which is the improved gas-piston version of the standard M-4 carbine.
The question is, what if we as a group could collectivly buy a HK416 for a Special Forces soldier or Marine deploying overseas?
I know this has been done with body armor and helmet inserts, but I dont know about firearms.
The only reason I am suggesting this for someone in the Spec-Ops community is that I dont think a "leg" grunt would be able to get away with it. Way more red tape.
I'm just thinking out loud here, I dont know how much they cost, or if we could even do it, but post up if you would be willing to contribute, or send me a e-mail if you would'nt want everyone else seeing your handle as a possible contributer.
