Being a lifelong civilian I may have a different view of calibers.My first gun was a sporterized o3a3.I loved the 30/06 caliber and the springfield rifle. My neighbor had several m14 rifles and I have never shot one a always wanted a m14 with a wood stock.I never liked the mi6 in any form beacus I did not like the caliber. I always told poeple that I refused to hunt poeple with a rifle that I would not hunt deer with.I am happy that troops are using the m14 in the war on terror. Steve
