Hello everyone.

I'm a long time reader, first time poster on here and I recently found a 1946-1948 WDX for sale about two hours from where I live and I'm not sure of the price. The guy said he wants $2500 for it (probably negotiable), which at first seemed high, but now I am not sure. I've looked at the old classifieds on here and asking prices for project trucks seems to range greatly, even when they seem to be in similar condition.

The truck appears to be complete and has a pto winch up front (believed to be a Braden, but I couldn't read the tag). My potential interest in it would be to make a nice, highway worthy vehicle with a Cummins 6 and higher ratio axles.

As far as I know the truck does not run. The frame is very solid. The top of the grill has a 2-3 inch dent. The roof of the cab has heavy pitting and some rust through and needs replacing, as well as the floor pans, but otherwise a solid cab. I have already located a donor cab at a local body shop that the guy said I could cut stuff off if needed (for how much $, I don't know). The front end is rusty, but no rot or nasty pitting that I remember. The front fenders are a little banged up and things are a little out of alignment. The rear fenders were banged up quite a bit, but no rot. I think the bed is salvageable, but it does have a decent amount of rust through, namely where the bed angles at the top, but the tube parts were OK. All of the wood is gone, not that that is a big deal....

Anyway, what do all of you think of that price? I found out about some more for sale not far from here that I'm going to look at hopefully this week, but the guy said they will all start at around $2500 as well....

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Jeff
