Hi Dan. A couple of years ago I did the change from non-synchro to synchro. If I remember correctly, you need to change the bell housing, clutch components, and you will need a key-activated starter motor to fit the newer bell housing. I hated to give up the more awkward original pedal-activated starter, but you get used to the new-fangled one. I bought a donor truck that had a trans./pto combination, and got all I needed. Then I had the starter rebuilt before putting it in. Jerry
