On my 48 Plymouth I switched to Dot5 over 8 years ago. Never had a problem, pedal is fine and no problems with the brake lite switch and still has the same fluid in it. Used off the shelf NAPA master and wheel cylinders, new lines, nothing special. Lots of myths about Dot5 .... It the truck sits a lot Dot 5 will save you a lot of grief as the wheel cylinders don't stick or rust. Switched my B1C 6 months ago when I did a full brake overhaul.
