Anytime you pull the head you have to replace the gasket.
If you end up going that route after you have checked everything
that Ricker has mentioned, make sure you clean both the block
surface and the head surface. It is vital that you get all of
the existing gasket material off. If not it will cause you a
whole lot problems. Good luck!
