I have put Hercules diesels in a M37 (bolt-in with MARS' kit) and a 48 B1PW (not quite a bolt-in with same front motor mounts). I used a SM420 for the B1PW and fabricated a rear "cradle" for the GM bellhousing.
At this point, Hercules in receivership. MARS may have kits but doesn't have motors. If you were to find a good motor then I'd contact MARS. Otherwise, the best bet in North America is a Cummins 4BT, coupled with a Ranger overdrive and NP420 and 4.89 gears. Alternatively, a Perkins or other 3.9-4.0L 4 cyl with a similar drivetrain (or a 5 spd like a NV4500 or NP540 or Clark 280VO).
Contact me if you have more questions.
