Hey Brian, I saw a set of gin poles that had been home made, and the guy had put a couple of trailer jacks at the ends of the frame, under the pole frame, to act as a fulcrum point. They worked fine unless he wanted to move the truck with the load on, then he had to let the jacks down and swivel them out of the way.
