If we just look at the prices, we don't see the whole picture. A gas out ain't gonna do schmitt other than amuse the 3% of elected washington that's not on vacation or in a bistro. Hey, how bout another Grand Jury investigation into price gouging. You know, just to help the Nielsen ratings? It's much bigger than us mere piddly citizens. So, why did the major oil companies post record profits this year? For example, Texaco projects a, get this... 437% yup dat's 437 net profit increase over 1999 for the first half of 2000. As the companies essentially can't or won't tell us why, one must look at who's above them. Are they just doing it to dick with Washington at our expense? Ok kids, on his recent visits, what kinda deal did Bubba Clampett cut with the Russia and China to help their economies that we don't know about. Mayhaps that's all that the oil companies can do to protest something. Raise the prices to get us mad. Subtle yet effective with the unfortunate side effect of lining their pockets. Why is it zone specific? Big city population density versus EPA air mandates?

I was overseas in two of the opec countries a few months ago about when this farce started. Chatting at the American Club in Riyadh, (one of the few places you can get boozed up) the consensus was that nothing will be done about crude till someone leaves office over here.

Just my two Dinars worth. I'm just a putz who has to buy the stuff.

Oh yeah. Anyone have a RR fender for a '48 PW?

Next post please. This oughta be good!
