As most of the people here have probably noticed by now, gas prices have been skyrocketing. Retail gas prices in the midwest have gone up while the wholesale price has gone down.

A national organization, of which I am a member is leading the move towards a boycott of fuel sales over the July 4th weekend of July 1-July 4.

In the past, gas outs have failed because the oil companies know we'll all come groveling back to get our gasoline "fix". This yyears the tactic is a little different. Instead of just not buying fuel, the plan is to only buy fuel from independent stations. i.e. Bob's gas station, that doesn't buy from any particular company.

Comapny stores such as Amoco, Shell, Texaco and so on are to be avoided. This will get their attention as sales will be made as well as profits, but they won't be doing it.

If you wish more information on how you can fight profiteers, feel free to contact either myself or COVA/CVAG for more information.
