Everytime I hear a story like that I can tell you fo one in the opposite direction. the japanese have staggering amounts of recalls and problems. cars are just cars anymore. American cars have become severely under rated in my opinion as a result of the mid 70s to the early 90s when quality just wasn't there. it created a generation who thinks japanese is always better.
