People with Cummins envy (mainly ford owners) are always starting weird Cummins rumors.
Chrysler and Cummins have a LONG term contract.
Cummins is currently finishing the new, 800,000 sq. ft. motor plant for Dodge/Jeep V-6 and V-8 diesels. This plant has been under construction for two years, the motor has been in development for nearly 10 years, a joint venture between Dodge, Cummins and the EPA.
I don't think CAT has a motor certified for 50 state highway use, that is the right size, gets the fuel economy needed and is ready for market...
