I believe this is the same issue that has been talked about a lot lately in the Turbo Diesel Register Forum.
A petroleum engineer remarked in an article what when the shift was made from CI diesel oils to CJ oils, the engine protection ability went down significantly. The new oil is for anti-pollution purposes. I think it was zinc that was eliminated.
Many people, including me, ran out and tried to buy up the CI oils but I could only find a few cases. The new oil was everywhere.
