I agree that seems like a lot for the simplest wiring harness known to man but I doubt these guys are getting rich.
Retailers are the guys making the bucks. They don't need to have any knowedge or particular talent...just buy low, sell high. Those are the guys I hate seeing make a big profit.
Think about it...how many hours goes into pissing around with each different vehicle trying to get everything to be a perfect fit with all the right connectors etc. They build it...sell them off to retailers who sell them & likely make more profit on each harness than the guy that put in all the effort to reproduce & make them...know what I mean?
I used to have more respect for the retailers when they kept a big inventory & had lots of overhead...nobody stocks anything anymore. The retailers that do have a big inventory...most of them hold a gun to the manufacturers head & make them supply products free of charge for several months until they get a chance to sell it.
Oh well...that's my rant for the day.
I'm just glad there are guys out there helping us make the parts we need. I've made lots of harnesses & they work great...but they don't look as good as the $800 one!
