I went through the ringer with Calif. DMV with two 2 1/2 ton WW2 GMCs.I bought them in Wis. and had them shipped to Grass Valley Calif.I had BILLS OF SALES only. I was honest and showed them I paid 8500. for the H1 Cargo Dump and 4000 for the short wheel base 352. Because I paid over 5000 for the one I had to put up a bond for 3 yrs.at 90 dollars a year. No I didn't have to weigh them, as I reg. them as Historic Vehicles. And it's BS that you can only drive them in parades etc. The wording is PRIMARLY in the code book. You can't use them for hire or everyday driver.
And for God sakes if it has a late model engine in it don't say a word about it or you'll have to bring the smog up to what was required in that year of motor !
