Most of the new stuff has water heated intakes, my 95 Ford has fuel-line size plumbing. I suspect the water heating doesn't get as hot as exhaust heat? Better control of the max heat? Plus, why waste the 'cooling' when you have to build a radiator, use the vaporising gas to help cool the engine? Higher gas consumption, more heat made, but more absorbed by the fuel?
