Amen brother. Sadly though we are gutless to stand up to China due to $$$$. If China invaded Taiwan today what would we do? Issue a UN mandate? Where is Bono,Sean Penn, and the UN protesting the Chinese gulags and human experiments that would make a nazi cringe?
My fellow martial artists who visit mainland China are always asked two things by the populace: 1. Can you show us some real Kung Fu? As the Chi-coms fear anybody having Jedi Knight type skills, so they now have acrobatic, watered down "Wushu" crap. Mao crushed the traditional powerful fighting arts fearing a population of trained fighters rising against him. I have been offered to visit the mainland. I refuse. It would be a waste of time, for nothing I could learn there would be better than what my teacher who fled the Communist in the 1950's taught me. The good fighters are in Taiwan. Sadly the mythical, honorable, heroic China portrayed in the Jet Li films no longer exists. Only in the heart of the people. The poor youth are seduced by the Red Army's promise of food, clothing, shelter. Thus communism remains.
2. Is the Dali Lama still alive? As the Chi-coms have told the population he is dead(hence Chinas dislike for Presidents Bush's honoring him last month)most Chinese people believe and are told the Dali Lama is dead and they are seeing an actor. Nothing frightens the Chinese communists more than a reason for the population to have hope.
Sadly one of my young students asked me if our Chinese tea in the school teapot had lead in it?
I am in the bearing business part time. A domestic or high end German bearing that costs us $40 is $3.50 in a Chinese equivalent
How do we compete with that? Worse, how do we defeat the greed for profit margin that imports create? More and more OEMS are asking for cheap bearings that will last about the time of the warranty..My two cents..
