O.T. Slant 6 transmission question

I picked up an '83 Dodge D100 that tossed #6 rod and piston out through the drivers side of the block. Does the automatic transmission assembly (including the flex plate and torq converter) only fit the slant 6 or does it bolt up to a 318 V8?
