Yes...excesive mileage on a lease is a killer unless you intended to purchase the vehicle outright, no matter what.
It's important to have a plan...for sure.
The most important thing is not to live beyond your means.
People seem to have a phobia these days about older cars being too hard on fuel. Maybe...but they cost less, depreciate less & often don't cost as much to maintain.
I bet a guy could buy a 71 D100 pickup for $1000 & it wouldn't average $500/year in maintainance. Try that with a BMW!
