Well,
I drove 1350 miles round trip for this Rally, and that does not include the 315 miles we put on out Power Wagons. It was the smallest Rally, not counting last months Mini Rally at Rehoboth, that I have attended. That said, it was one of the best! The comeraderie was first rate. Many thanks to Dave Horvath for his great efforts in planning and hosting this, footing the bill for much of it. Thanks to Joel and Melissa Folman for inhaling all of the smoke billowing from my tailpipe and preventing West Virginia from looking like LA on a hot summer day! Thanks to on Tucker for joining us at Dolly Sods Wilderness Area, and increasing our numbers by 25%! Thanks to "Little" John S. for being my co-pilot on the the first trail ride and to "Big" John S. for showing us that a Yugo can keep up with Power Wagons on the trail ride! And to Nick Horvath for Driving Dave home from the Purple Fiddle (Nuff said!) How many 16 year old Power Wagon drivers are there anyway?
West Virginia is a beautiful place. I think they should send their road building crews across to a neighboring state to see that other places make their roads wide enough for two vehicles to pass without actually making contact with each other!
Well, if you were on the fence on this you sure missed out on a good time. Take a look at the pics in my album, it will give you a bit of a flavor of the trip. Many were shot by me as I drove so forgive the funky angles and dirty glass!
Tim
