im building a sip house for my dad. im also using sound deadening in my truck
heres my .02
styrofoam, from what i understand will break down just from age, and water CAN seep through it if exposed continuously it will break down.
the sip (structured insulated panels) house uses a urethane.
spray can urethane will hold water too, unless you run closed cell spray foam.
as for sound deadening i cut all the interior walls out of the wc, and put peel &stick then used a water based spray on sound deadener followed by the juste and closed cell. i know you are worried about weight, but i OVERDID my truck and added about $300lbs. it wont rust in those spots again!
