To all who have offered suggestions...Thanks.
I'll get everything checked out and let you all know what the results were.

By the way, since I feel that a command car is way too big to trust to hand signals, especially at night, I used the Mummer's parade as the impetus for putting on a full set of lights. The challenge in my mind was to do the job without drilling any holes in the body.

Started with a Signal-Stat clamp-on-the steering column control box and worked outwards from there.

Well, the installation couldn't have turned out better. A blacksmith friend of mine and I worked up a bracket that clamps to the lower part of the front grill. Extending beyond the grill just enough for the turn signals to clear the grill, I used vintage style signals with arrows in the lenses. So far no holes.

At the rear, I noticed that there was a perfect hole on each bumperette for the brake light/turn signal. Again, no holes.

The only problem/challenge at this point was the realization that there were no tail lights. So, back to the blacksmith. We made a bracket out of 3/16 x 1-1/2 flat bar with a 3-inch flange that hooks over the top of the bumper. It was designed to be a tight fit. The brake light bolts through the bracket and the hole in the bumper. The bracket extends below the turn signal/brake light just enough to give some separation.

The bracket fits so securely, you'd swear it was welded on.

Since the original wiring didn't make provisions for tail lights (other than the tiny oval light on the right), we direct wired the tail lights to a toggel switch on the dash. Okay, so when it was all over, we had to dril a small hole in the dash for the toggle switch. All in all, a very satisfying project. If anyone's interested, I can post some images of the finish product.
