At this time of the year, the bark of a Eucalyptus, will curl up and pop off when the heat of the fire gets near it.
In Devore, I've seen thousands of pieces of burning euc bark, some up to 3' long, flying through the air in front of a fire storm, igniting everything they touch, it's surealistic...and puckering when it's coming at your brush crew...
