Probably the bearing between input and out put shafts.

From general manual trans service. That bearing has it's biggest load in third, least/no load in fourth. So, some noise in first, worse in second, worst in thirdst. Plus, it is the hardest to get lube to.

I did find some 140wt oil for mine. Quieter, but also makes it shift different when cold than when hot. Makes timing harder when shifting that crash box.

It gives me flashbacks to the days of my youth. The milk man on the corner used to come home from his route in his Divco. Same time as I walked up the hill from school. Heard the ol whine, clunk-clunk as the clutch pedal hit the floor twice, whiiiine as he topped the hill.
