How do the non-cheaters do it? I figure the fuzz will burn off and blow out the pipe. I've tried red hi-temp RTV on exhaust gaskets and it doesn't hold up at all. Before I knew you could buy exhaust gasket stock, I tried making my own by covering both sides of asbestos paper with red RTV and compressing it while it was wet to squeeze the RTV into the asbestos. Didn't last more than an hour or so.
