I figure on building my bed on the truck. I'll bolt the boards to some of the crossmembers, with the big bolts loosely into the front member. That will allow me to lift the back end, and tighten the bolts above the gas tank. Proceed from there, one piece at a time. Head board next. This way, I won't have to move a whole bed around, and I'll be sure it fits, not be mis-aligned.
Todd's pic doesn't show any bolts through boards into the head board. But my B3pw wouldn't have any fixation there. My Mar K repro headboard has lots of holes. I think I'll counter sink them bolt heads...
