I think that the shop had drilled out the spot welds when they started working on the bed. If I remember right, they welded a set of strips onto the bed, but did it in the wrong place and had to strip them off again. So, the holes may not be in the right place... Best to get the strips from Mar-K and spot weld them on. I think that you will be happiest with the results.
