I got all 4 brakes done, new wheel cyls, rubber lines, shoes were great so I just cleaned them up. Cleaned up and lubed the adjusters etc. Still waiting for wheel seals and then the drums go back on.
Did an oil change today. After the oil had stopped dripping I stuck my pinky in the drain hole to see how deep the sludge was. It wasnt too bad, but I did pill about 3/8" of a 1/4" diameter spring out It is definately broken off a longer spring. he only spring I can think of would be the oil relief spring. Wouldnt there be a ball in front of it anyway, so if it broke, it couldnt get into the oil could it?
I did a compression test on the engine. #1 cyl was at 95 PSI. All others were at 120 to 125. I put some oil down the cylinder and it jumped up to 150. I suspect a stuck ring is the culprit, the truck has sat for quite a while. I will check it periodically after it is running regularly.
Making progress!
Tim
