I really really hope that these lightweight vehicles don't make it to the front line. As Jack Cain mentioned, they are much too lightweight to ever see action. Hopefully they just run around Generals on airports and around DC. What makes me wonder is that the contracting activity is The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, which states on its website "We are the forefront of the Army's transformation to a lighter, more lethal, and survivable force."
If that means these things are going to see combat, they Army may have just made a terrible mistake. A highly armored HMMWV has trouble keeping IED's out. That little Jeep will get jacked up.
