I took apart the old one and used the parts as a pattern. You'll need a zipper foot to sew the bead/welt/roping. Then, sew the roping to one part, using the zipper foot, then sew it to the other part using the zipper foot. Then sew the edge of the roping to the vertical part so as to make it double stitched. She used her regular machine.

Vinyl cost me $5 yd, 54" wide, for plain, and $8 yd for the pig skin textured. $49 total, including enough for the head liner. The textured may have been a mistake, it is sorta sueded, and will probably show grime in no time, and I don't think Armorall will help.

Roberts sold me new fiber padding. It was none too long, a bit more would have curled around the ends to protect the vinyl from the springs.
