I'm not sure of the inherent safety

I just used mine the other day- I have a 4 car deep driveway and have to rotate my vehicles to get the one I want up to the garage. So the M101 full of loose parts got hooked to the FFPW.

It looks to me that the whole pulling force is always against the 'latch', rather than against a fixed (stronger) hook, with a latch that merely keeps the lunnete from bouncing out.

I did like using it though, simply open it up, and back the truck against the lunnete. The system is self latching... but are you sure it is latched? And no place for a safety wire either. Where as the pintle on my M1009 Blazer only used the latch to keep the lunnete trapped, and then had a safety/cotter pin in addition to the latch spring.

And too the FFPW had an 'optional' remote release feature too- rig a rope up to the cab, and hank it while motivating- launch the towed load at hi-way speed!

And a related question- I didn't have any place to hook the safety chains. Did FFPWs use rings like for lifting machinery? The 41's did.
