My bushings were not new but in very good shape, apparently replaced at some point. They may be squished slightly but I also needed the washers to get things to line up correctly.

A ride does help when I get frustrated too.

Could your tires be causing the shimmy? Warped rim maybe? Or is it in the driveline?
