This is the 1939 civilian Montpelier (bottom) and the late 1939 Army VC ambulance prototype (Army shot courtesy of Dave Butler)

You can see it is the same buid, though different in detail such as the door hinging. Another shot shows the ambulance looks to be on a longer chassis than the 116" VC production truck, maybe a 1939 TD 20 one ton chassis or something like that.
