My Dad flew a B24,Got shot down and lost a arm and leg + burns,many skin grafs later he went to collage to end up teaching at Princeton U. He took me camping, hunting,hiking,fishing and coached my baseball team.He is my hero. He would never talk about being shot down. But he did tell me about the time he took his CO's harley and whisky!
