Trust me Clint, I realize that.

I put Radiant floor heat in the garage and that required 2 separate permits itself. They wanted to pressure test it for leaks and when I called to ask what they had in mind and what I needed they informed me they needed to have 150 PSI held for 30 minutes. The PEX tubing is factory rated a LOT less than that and operating pressure is less than 10 lbs.
I had to get specs form the manufacture telling/showing them that 30 PSI for 30 minutes was more than enough to get around that one. I guess I should have let them blow up the tubing in the concrete for a test?
When the inspector came and looked at it, I had it all plumbed up with air on it with the gauge at 30 ready for him to bleed off and check. He said just leave it and after less than 5 minutes left, passing it.
I could have just bought a stuck guage. It is sad but here it seems to be about the fees and job security. They actually pay our inspectors a "finder's fee" for every job site that hasn't pulled the correct permits when they fine builder.
Again, it is needed but common sense should prevail. Kevin
