yes the cable goes to the pintal but you need to remove the canvas to to install it
the pipe is 2 1/2 ID on the lower legs and 2 1/2 OD on the upper legs
I would have to gues it will lift 1000lbs or so. It will lift a flat head 6 with tranny with out a problem.
I have had the back end of the truck off the ground trying to lift the front of a m37
if you build on be carefull I have been told you can bend your frame if you over load it
