A few things I have found that help in doing brakes:
1. Back the shoes off the drum by turning the adjusting cam nuts and the anchor bolts in towards the center so the shoes don't catch on the ridge.
2. Use heat and parafing on the three cap screws that hold the drum to the hub. After removing the screws, if the drum won't come off, use puller screws in the other three holes to drive the drum off the hub.
3. Mark the drums and hubs and keep them together as a set. If you have to turn the drums, find a shop that will turn them on their hub.
4. Use antisieze when remounting drums to hubs. You offspring will thank you someday.
5. Never resuse the copper gaskets at the wheel cylinders. They will leak. VPWs has new ones.
