He wil also have to run a conduit and pull the proper sized wire since the likely hood is that any existing wire is undersized and a 5 HP motor requires some BIG, serious wire when it's single phase.
If he is running any distance he'll likely need # 6 wire, most people will faint when they see the cost of the proper sized wire and try to cut corners, then you will get called to put out the fire and barricade the crater....= )
