Starter ring gears 172 and 146 tooth

I looked up the starter ring gears to make sure of the tooth count. The low torque is a 172 tooth ring gear (WM300) and the regular ring is a 146 tooth used on M-37, long blocks, and all others. Both ring gears are the same diameter and are interchangeable with the flywheels. Starter drive gears have to be matched with the right tooth count. I prefer the 146 tooth as I have a better starter replacement selection. Bendix drive or push peddle drives. Car or truck. Hope this helps. Jackson
