The number you got from the cab is the cab model and serial number, not the truck VIN. "4112" is 1941 WC 1/2 ton closed cab, and "308150" is the serial number of the Budd built cab. If it was a VC, the cab serial number would have begun with "4012," and the wheel hubs would have had a much closer bolt circle diameter (lug nut pattern). The fit of the sheet metal, bolt circle diameter and Budd wheels all reveal the chassis is a WC 1/2 ton military chassis, probably with a 116" instead of 123" wheelbase.

The civilian front clip was substituted for the WC 1/2 military front clip and a civilian type bed with civilian type fenders replaced the old military bed. The front bumper is from a Korean war era 2-1/2 ton GMC 6X6 [M135/211, etc.].

The truck is an interesting and stylish collection of parts, but is not close to an original VC hard cab truck. It's a curious "what?"
